This morning at breakfast

September 9, 2012

I was just going to write all about how much they love each other when I heard Mae screaming downstairs, “I don’t want to play with you anymore, Leah”

Sometimes they can be so sweet together. Last night they both wanted to sleep in Leah’s room on air mattresses. We tried the night before, but had to send Mae back to her room because they kept fighting. Mae pleaded for one more – just one more – chance! We told them if they made ANY noise that would be it – no more — they promised to behave… They kept to their promise — and I think they were asleep in 15 minutes – 20 minutes tops…

This morning they’ve been pretty good together – until maybe 10 minutes ago. Mae now hates her sister. The noise level is unbearable — but I’m leaving soon to take my first swimming lesson in well over 30 years. I can’t swim to save my life – I’m determined to learn at least learn how to tread water for a good length of time — and swim in between treading – if that makes sense. I’m determined to overcome this fear of mine… I don’t know what’s worse – Mae screaming at her sister – or me having to jump in the deep end of the pool…
