One of those days

October 21, 2012

I thought I’d create this entire project using instant film, but I just can’t do it. It’s not really possible when temperatures fall below 60 degrees (or much lower). So – I think I’ll take a photo a day any way I can. There’s nothing to be ashamed of when using an old 50 year old German camera. 🙂

Last Sunday I asked the girls to sit for me while I ran off a roll of film. I do this at least once a week. Everything about the session is impromptu, and I take my chances with their moods. Sometimes Leah wants to join in – sometimes not. Sometimes Mae wants her big sister there – sometimes not. I’ll let you figure out what she was thinking…

Girls Girls Girls… pfffftttt…

Today’s Play Date Crew

June 18, 2012

I hadn’t planned on having a play date at our house today, but when Mae bounced out of school she said she wanted to have her friend over. I also promised to walk another little girl home because her mom sprained her ankle playing tennis. So – long story, I ended up having all three of them over to our house. I made the usual Mac -n- Cheese, served ice-cold lemonade along with fresh raspberries. Not too bad for a last minute daytime soiree.

The girls all had a great time together – I just wish I had a microphone hidden somewhere on the lunch table. The discussions are HILARIOUS! Oh the things they say…

The Porch

June 12, 2012

The porch is where I take a lot of my photos. The light is usually nice (this particular day it was a bit harsh – and I didn’t take my time metering properly), and it’s just easier to get Mae to stand for less than a minute and then go back inside to whatever she was doing. I have hundreds of images shot on the porch.
