Think Pink

October 19, 2012

I’ve heard of women who do everything to keep gender stereotypes safely from their children. They let boys play with dolls – girls can touch frogs – blah blah blah — A waste of time in my opinion. Why? Because I did my damnedest to get Mae to wear nothing but cool black skull and crossbones t-shirts with very cool jeans and kicks — I tried – and for a while she was down with it all – she was a mini-me! But — what the hell happened? She suddenly started showing up at the breakfast table with Tinkerbell pj’s — pink slippers – hair clips… Now — THIS! My eyes hurt when I look at this photo — pink. PINK! Good god… Pink and Purple. Pink and Purple.

I give up.
