Besties

Summer of 2013

Summer of 2013

I took this image sometime this summer. These two have known each other most of there lives. They had a play date this past weekend that lasted about 6 hours. They never stopped talking. They never fought. They both were exhausted by the time it was time to break up the party… I’m happy they have each other.

Last BFF Play Date for the Summer

August 28, 2013

August 28, 2013

The summer had to come to a close sometime – and – what better way to close things out than to have a 7 1/2 hours play date with your bestie? Yeah, it was a long day, but they had a great time together – as always. I’m a little sad they’ll be going to different schools, but there will be more play dates… Sigh…

Pancake Princess

July 7, 2013

July 7, 2013

Sundays are for pancakes. It was a tradition in my house growing up – and when Mae came along, I talked Alison into continuing the tradition. Mae loves it. I also get a chance to take a few photos of her either before or after breakfast.

Mae made the princess crown you see in the photo. She found a website where she could put in her name (no spaces for Mae!) – color it – and then print it out. Then, she cut it out and had her mom tape it together. Mae is always working some kind of project – and I mean ALWAYS. We cover one kitchen wall with painting and drawings — remove them and put them away – and then it seems like the next day the wall is covered again! Our little artist…

They love each other more than I think they love anyone else. True story.

Getting Ready for Victoria Day Party

May 19, 2013

May 19, 2013

She’s patiently waiting to go to her teacher’s house to celebrate Victoria Day. The festivities don’t start until this evening — I’m getting a little unnerved listening to Mae asking every 10 minutes or so if it’s time to go yet…

Not always Unicorns and Fairies

May 18, 2013

She’s generally a very happy child, but she’s been moody for weeks now. I’m guessing its’ a growth spurt – at least that’s what I hope it is. Her little brain is always working – she loves to argue, loves to challenge everything, loves to make observations, to pontificate — on and on… All of it just wears me out by day’s end… In other news, according to the little app on my iPhone there’s just 107 days, 19 hours, 24 minutes and 12 seconds until Mae goes off to FIRST GRADE!! Which means I’ll have my days free from 8:35-3:35 every day. There IS light at the end of the tunnel…

These two. Boy oh boy. They’ve been besties before they could walk. They have such a great friendship. I love watching them grow up together.
